Happiness is a butterfly, which when pursued, is always just beyond your grasp, but which, if you will sit down quietly, may alight upon you. ~Nathaniel Hawthorne

The Nilgiri Mountain Railway is a railway in Tamil Nadu, India, built by the British in 1908, and was initially operated by the Madras Railway. The railway still relies on its fleet of steam locomotives. In July 2005, UNESCO added the Nilgiri Mountain Railway as an extension to the World Heritage Site of Darjeeling Himalayan Railway, the site then became known as “Mountain Railways of India. The famous Hindi song Chaiyya Chaiyya from the film “Dil Se” featuring Shahrukh Khan was shot on the roof top of NMR.
One of the most beautiful train journeys I have undertaken till now. We went in NMR from Ooty to Coonoor.

Taken at Kolkata near my home. One good thing about Kolkata is the number of well fed and healthy cats in the neighborhood. 🙂
A man dressed as Einstein, sitting on the street of Amsterdam with a “donation” tin can in front of him. After some time his “shift” got over and another guy took his place! When he removed his mask, the man turned out to be a young guy! It is not exactly begging, as he is supposedly putting on a show as a living statue for viewers’ entertainment. So he is a busker. Many students earn this way as they support themselves (college, apartment, etc)
Ever since we crawled out of that primordial slime, that’s been our unifying cry, “More light.” Sunlight. Torchlight. Candlelight. Neon, incandescent lights that banish the darkness from our caves to illuminate our roads, the insides of our refrigerators. Big floods for the night games at Soldier’s Field. Little tiny flashlights for those books we read under the covers when we’re supposed to be asleep. Light is more than watts and footcandles. Light is metaphor. Light is knowledge, light is life, light is light. ~Diane Frolov and Andrew Schneider
